Wired Desk, is designed to encourage the efficient use of your time in producing a web page. Essentially the basic stages to create a web page are - you type your story, then add your pictures (if any) and test the result.
To demonstrate the steps in Wired Desk, let us say you decide to do a news article with approximately 2 sections of 4 paragraphs each. You enter the News Article Editor and perform the following steps:
- Select 4 paragraphs for the first section, add the second section with the number of paragraphs.
- Start at the beginning and type away, simply pressing TAB to get to the next paragraph or heading.
- Upload a new picture for article and assign to section 1 paragraph 2.
- Find another existing picture from the picture library and assign to the news article precis.
- Press "Save and Redisplay" button and the news article is generated with the correct template for you to check in a separate browser window.
- Click back to the editor, perform corrections and press "Save and "Redisplay" button.
- The full news article is now correct and verified. Exit the editor.
- In the folder listings press "Test It" to see the news article listed on the home page of that website area.
Wired Desk encourages you to achieve quality in your work, by giving you a chance to test your work at every step of the way. In the Editor with the "Save and Redisplay" option, in the web page listings with "Preview" and "Test It" and in the Wired Desk home page with "View WIP Website" and "View Approved Site".
